ASSIGNMENT OF PLOTS:

  • Plots are assigned on a yearly basis from October 1st to September 30th.
  • Plots not maintained or abandoned during the year will be reassigned to other members. Plots must be cleared/planting begun by May 15.
  • Members assigned plots are expected to maintain pathways around their plots, keeping them free of debris and weeds.
  • Children with assigned plots may come into the garden when other adult members are present. Other children may come in only with parents or guardians.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION:

East Fourth Street Garden is organic. Pesticides and environmentally harmful chemicals are not to be used unless approved by 2/3 majority vote of active membership at regular meeting. Members shall have been given active notice in advance of the issue.

MEETINGS:

Membership meetings shall be held at least once each calendar quarter. Members are expected to attend all meetings or to notify the Steering Committee of inability to attend.

FUNDRAISERS, CLEAN-UPS, PLANTINGS, OPEN HOURS:

Participation in community activities is integral to garden membership.

Members who do not attend community activities and meetings up to three consecutive times will be subject to loss of their plots and/or garden membership. Community participation also includes regular maintenance of your assigned common area and commitment to at least 4 dates for weekend open hours (May-Sept.)
